Dr Walters is possibility the best GP I believe I have ever had the fortune to have seen. He listened and explained everything clearly to me. It was an absolute pleasure to have had Dr Walters as a stand in GP, and if I had my way, he would be a permanent fixture at the Fishponds family practice

My daughter, aged 6, and I saw Walter earlier today. He took his time and was extremely gentle examining my daughter. He diagnosed the issues and suggested a range of approaches, including changes to diet. He also suggested a book which we could read to understand his suggested approach in more detail. I left, without a prescription for any medicine, but confident we had received the highest level of care and in no doubt that his suggestions and approach would help solve the issues my daughter had been suffering from. Walter is an excellent doctor and I would recommend him without reservation.

I can't thank Dr Walter enough for the care I received. He is really helping me to overcome my depression. He is a brilliant doctor and extremely easy to talk to, even with such a complicated matter.

Dr. Walter was great, he knows his stuff, is clear about the issues and the potential implications longer term of the issues raised. What I particularly liked was his patient focused approach, so while talking through options for treatment, he listened to and incorporated my views and preferences. He was very good on the prevention angle and working through options to change life style first rather than just offering medication, which matches with my own personal preference. I have made radical lifestyle changes (in a good way) since seeing Dr. Walter, I now understand more about the impact of certain behaviours and he has supported me to take some good steps to improve the quality, and indeed (hopefully) longevity of my life. Thanks!

I went to see Dr Walter for my skin - and after reading some of these reviews and talking to my partner, it sounds like I had quite a similar experience. My partner and I are both research Drs - while we are not qualified health professionals, we both have PhDs in medical research. Positives - he prescribed me some more steroid cream and a new moisturiser to try. Negatives - His first suggestion to me was to try cutting out wheat and dairy. I'm not aware of any evidence to suggest wheat/dairy intake are linked to my skin condition, more than any other common food allergens (egg, fish, nuts etc). I mentioned perhaps (if something in my diet was triggering my eczema) some form of formal allergy/patch testing and/or a referral to a dermatologist or dietitian would be a better option... He further suggested I "de-normalise sugar" and suggested a book on amazon which he has recently purchased "how to relax, eat, move and sleep"... While I agree, a healthy, balanced, diet is very important, I found his approach incredibly frustrating.
